Are you tired of the old and boring WinPopup that you have to use as your LAN chat client because you know no better? The utility is just too basic to speak well about it: ugly looks, no history, plain black text only. Luckily, you can now try WinMessenger that is a much more advanced chat client.
WinMessenger is a powerful substitution for WinPopup in Windows 9.x/Me and Messenger service in Windows NT/2000/XP. It boasts a number of useful features: history of last 100 messages, manual deletion of messages from history and restoring them back during the working session, AutoComplete that stores up to 50 user and group names, saving the current message as a plain text file and more. The program allows you to insert smileys (emoticons) in your messages and quote the message you reply to in different color.
The new version distinguishes between read and unread messages - read being the ones that you looked at for more than 5 seconds. The number of unread messages is now showed in the tray icon. Try this chat client today and check it out yourself.
